How to use them
Step one — Print: The poster for your classroom wall, the cards on any printer — black-and-white friendly.
Step two — Cut & post: Cut along the dashed lines. Hang the poster where students will see it every day.
Step three — Take one, leave one: Students take a card for themselves — and leave one behind for a stranger.
October is National Bullying Prevention Month in the United States — and kindness is the curriculum all year.
The 10 Days of Kindness Challenge
This October, try one card a day for ten school days. Read it together, talk about it for two minutes, then live it for the rest of the day. Ten cards, ten days, one kinder classroom.
- We are each other's greatest wealth.
- To see and to be seen are among the greatest gifts that can be exchanged.
- Make "the other" a brother (or a sister).
- It doesn't cost to be nice, but it's very costly to be mean.
- A greeting is the human form of a sunrise.
- Be a warm house in a storm.
- Sometimes sweet fruits grow from bitter seeds.
- He who excludes others ultimately leaves himself out.
- Never underestimate the importance of a hug.
- People would love it if you said hello.
Start any day in October — or any day at all. Kindness is the curriculum all year.
