Silent Child

A Journey Beyond the Mountains

There was a silent child who lived in a large city, surrounded by mountains.

She dreamed of oceans, beaches, sunsets over the horizon of the sea.

One day she escaped up a mountain path and met a wild horse named Claro.

At first she was scared.

“Will the horse hurt me?” she thought.

But then something whispered inside of her soul, and she mounted the horse.

“Take me where you will,” she commanded.

And the horse took her down a sinuous forested path, down, down, down the mountain, through the valley on the other side, all the way to the sea.

Together they stood as the orange sun dipped below the sea.

“I am home,” she whispered with a smile.

“I am home.”
