The Language of Dreamers
On the clash of opposites within
The language of dreamers
dancers poets
melts in your mouth
like granita helados
The language of engineers
chops at the palate
like screws
Everyone bleeds
What a ruckus they make
when they mate
They say
opposites attract
Lovers and engineers
loud and soft
rough and smooth
good and evil
Save us all
when the mind
holds more than one language
what a rough dance
more like a wrestling match
until someone is pinned
and someone breathes again
A poem by Pemba Umoja
