Solstice
Winter light, and the stars underfoot.
I was dreaming under the sun.
The snow that melted made tiny rivulets in the cobblestones
that glittered like the star-filled sky in the late morning.
Although it was frigid,
the sun warmed my face enough for me to remember summertime.
The stars in the cobblestone puddles brought back memories of lost dreams
floating in the black universe of time.
Dreaming under the sun in the winter.
Never too late to peer at the stars within
to see them sparkle
and perhaps even to reach for and touch their rays.
