Night of the Strawberry Moon
A Moonlit Page
The marsh grass
sways in the
night breeze
lapping waves
massage the shores
beneath a giant
live oak
covered in Spanish
moss
a belle of a
home glimmers
in the moonlight
a wedding cake
mansion graced
by two massive
double porches
marble stairs
cracked by time
lead to the
grand entrance
the home is
basked in a
glow
someone sits
way atop the
Georgian roof
surveying all below
a fragile
folding desk
holds up
a sturdy old
typewriter
the page is blank
a canvas waiting
to be explored
moments
pass
the cicadas
continue their
symphony
the typist begins
slowly letters appear

Strawberry Moon
