Magenta World

A world of my own creation

Magenta World — a poem by Pemba Umoja

I live in a magenta world
of pink horizons
and painted skies
where pelicans glide across dimpled seas.
The horizon curves
where volcanoes carve their shape into sky.
As our cruiser points northward,
the saline air
swallows my brain
in a warm embrace.
I am alive.
Alive
in a world
of my own creation.
